ST PAUL’S and Zion Rainbow Connection Fair will be the pot of gold for the local community members on Saturday, October 8 from 10am to 4pm.

Specialty stalls will be spread across the grounds of St Paul’s Church and Child Care, Zion Bargain Centre and in the internal quadrangle of Zion Lutheran Home offering cakes, sweets and crafts.

A range of live entertainment will be performed on the day from school choirs and bands at Grace College and Mary Mackillop College.

Zion Receptionist and Rainbow Connection Fair Convenor Fayleen Ramsay said people of all ages will come together to celebrate their community connection at the fete.

“The exposure from an event such as this fair will help cultivate people’s interest in the Lutheran precinct at Nundah,” she said.

“It will be wonderful to see many familiar faces from other aged care facilities, community services and LCC support staff at the fete.”

“We will have two raffles on the day and there will also be wood-turning and card-making for both adults and children,” Faylene said.

“Children should enjoy the baby animal petting farm, jumping-castle and balloon art shaping.

“The side-show alley amusements will also be an attraction for all ages.”

A variety of food will also be available, including a barbecue with hamburgers and German sausages with sauerkraut and there will be a Devonshire Tea café.

Fayleen said St Paul’s Child Care Centre will run an open day and the children will have an art display continuing the rainbow theme.

“Adults can show off their artistic flair with the rainbow cake competition to be judged by the general public.”

Children from the childcare centre will participate in a dancing and soccer displays.

Zion staff will put on a display of multicultural dancing and site tours of Zion will be conducted throughout the day.
