Lutheran Community Care Disability Services give people with disabilities access to services that aim to build an appropriate level of independence. We currently offer services including employment assistance, life skills support, training and community access.
We work closely with people with disabilities and their families to develop a suitable service response for each individual. Depending on the person and location, services may include: Employment Assistance
Life Skills We work closely with people with disabilities to enable them to live as independently as possible, and to encourage and facilitate community participation. Our support includes teaching independent daily living skills such as using public transport, banking, enjoying recreation and social activities, cooking and maintaining accommodation. Accommodation We offer supported accommodation options for people with disabilities. These services aim to empower each individual to live a fulfilling life in an environment suitable for his/her needs. Training and Education We offer training and education for people with disabilities to provide them with opportunities and skills to join the workforce and participate in community life. The training focuses on personal development and building communication skills as well as training in work-related competencies in a simulated work environment. Volunteer work programs offer individuals an opportunity to put work readiness skills into practice, enjoy social interaction and build networks in the community, all of which give them confidence and support to live as independently as possible. |
