Keystone Disability Service

Our service is located on Brisbane’s Southside in Woodridge. We have supported people between 15 to 65-years-old with a disability for more than 36 years to live as independently as possible in the local community and  work We provide a range of employment, living and training services to support people with a disability

We offer two programs for people with disabilities:

  • Keystone Employment helps people obtain and maintain meaningful employment.  Twenty eight people are currently receiving paid employment through this program on the production team packing 45,000 airline headsets weekly.
  • Keystone Development provides training and support to clients who live and work in the community, including community access activities.

Employment Service

We can help you in a number of ways to find or keep a job such as:

  • identify any extra training you may need
  • help you create a resume
  • help you set goals and plan your pathway to employment
  • approach employers directly for employment opportunities
  • meet with you regularly to assist you in your search for work, and
  • support you after you have started a new job.

 

You can receive assistance from us if you satisfy our criteria such as:

  • want to work
  • have a disability that is a barrier to getting and keeping competitive employment
  • are registered with Centrelink, have a Job Capacity Assessment (JCA) and are referred to us directly, or
  • self-refer directly.

Our Development Program

We provide training, support and community access activities. Our program consists of a combination of a day respite and education.  People come together to learn, interact and access a variety of activities such as craft, cooking, community access, computer skills, gardening and volunteer work. 

We offer support to build and maintain skills which will assist people with a disability to live in the community. Clients receive independent support tailored to their needs in a variety of areas such as:

  • social skills
  • communication skills 
  • how to maintain appropriate behaviour in a variety of challenging circumstances
  • money handling, and
  • travel training.

 

You can receive assistance from us if you meet some of the following criteria:

  • are referred to us by the Department of Communities (Disability Services), and
  • are able to travel independently to Keystone.

  • We also have an office in Hillcrest  (Wednesday 9am-1pm)
